Radar
I'm done standing here
Radar was a horse I acted like I never really wanted.
But in reality, he was exactly what I wanted.
He was a beautiful gray, as white as the snow.
With just enough sass to keep me on my toes.
I didn't like him when we first met, but he was for my husband, and he demanded respect.
He knew what he was in his heart and mind.
And taught me many lessons over time.
He was like a ballet dancer with agility and grace.
He would leap and bound and loved to race.
He was fun to watch and more fun to ride.
In the end, it was a matter of time.
We had a ride, I'll never forget.
We finally became friends, and then he became sick.
Even as his body showed us the signs, his spirit will remain unchanged throughout time.
His time on earth has come to an end;
Heaven needs him back again.
His final lesson is one we all know.
How to love with our hearts,
and then,
how to let go.
